Frequently Asked Questions

When will I be able to see the full list of CWz events?

Our  Events Calendar went live the beginning of March 2026 - yeah! Listings will be added on a rolling basis up until April. Please check back on our website regularly for new events.

What is the difference between the Main Programme, featured events and all other events?

Main programme events are the handful of events hosted centrally by the CWZ team throughout the week. At the heart of Climate Week Zurich are the 200+ events that all partner organisations are hosting: these can be found in our complete Events Calendar, with some events being featured on the separate Featured Events or Blog pages.

Can i filter the programme according to language, location or topic?

To facilitate you scrolling through and registering for events, a filter function of the Events Calendar will be added in March.

in Which language do the events take place?

A majority of the events are in English, and many others in German. The language in which the event is displayed in ithe Events Calendar is the main language in which the event takes place. Please check the registration page for each other for more details (e.g. some events, like the #MoveToDate Festival on Saturday, are multi-lingual).

Are all of the events free to attend?

CWZ is hosting a large variety of events formats, languages, and audiences. A majority of the events are free to attend - but you have to 'buy' a ticket by going through the registration process. Some of the events are limited to invite-only, others are paid events. Please consult the details on each of the event registration pages.

Is there a central event venue for CWZ?

#CWZ2026 isn't just a conference – it’s a city-wide takeover featuring 250+ events hosted by partnering organisations across the city. Please check each event’s registration page for the exact location. When you register for an event, you will also receive a confirmation e-mail reiterating event details including time and location.

Though most events will take place in the city of Zurich and can be reached by foot and tram, please note that some events may take place further away (noted in the event registration page).

Why do I have to go through a registration page for every event, even the free oneS?

Climate Week Zurich's vision is to have a platform where organisations and people join forces to create measureable climate impact. To do so, CWZ tracks inputs and outputs of all activities happening during the week. This structure enables CWZ to continually assess and strengthen its own impact, learning from each edition and improving year over year. At the same time, the framework empowers partners and participants to better understand and track their own behavioural shifts.

For this purpose, we ask all partnering organisations and participants to answer some questions before and after CWZ relating to each individual event. This takes a few minutes, and we thank everyone for their time invested.

Do I need to book my own accommodation?

Yes. Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation during Climate Week Zurich.

Climate Week Zurich has partnered with HotelMap Green to provide visitors with convenient and sustainable suggestions for accommodation: see Stay and click on "Green Hotels". These exclusive hotel rates are only for registered CWZ participants.

How do I get around Zurich during the week?

Zurich has an excellent public transport system (tram, bus, train). We recommend downloading the “SBB Mobile” app to plan your trip and buy tickets. Most CWZ venues are accessible within 5-20 minutes either on foot or by tram. Taxis, bicycles and shared mobility services are also available.

how can i travel to cwz?

Train travel to, from and within Switzerland is often the most sustainable and convenient choice (Swiss trains really do run like clockwork!).

CWZ is partnering with Terran, a Swiss NGO whose vision is a world in which land-based (terran) travel is the first choice. To measure footprint and impact created – as well as offering a matchmaking service for those travelling by train –, Terran asks participants to tell us about your travel plans.

CWZ is also partnering with SimpleTrain, a Swiss start-up whose online platform provides a wide range of ideas, tips and services for rail travel. SimpleTrain is offering all #CWZ2026 participants a CHF 15 voucher for all travel booked with their app by using the code CWZ2026Trainride.

For those flying to Zurich Airport (ZRH): there's a station in the airport with regular trains taking you to the city centre in 12 minutes.

Find out more about Terran's travel tips, matchmaking services, and SimpleTrain's offer by visiting our Travel section.

Is public transport included in my event ticket?

No, public transport is not included. We recommend downloading the “SBB Mobile” app to plan your trip and buy tickets. Most CWZ venues are accessible within 5-20 minutes either on foot or by tram. Taxis, bicycles and shared mobility services are also available.

Will transport between event venues be organized by CWZ?

No, unless exceptionally mentioned on a registration page of a specific event, participants are responsible for their own travel between venues. Most locations are easily reachable on foot or by public transport.

Are there accessibility considerations for travel?

Most public transport and CWZ venues are accessible. If you have specific needs, contact us so we can support you.
